Black Lives Do Matter..

In the wake of George Floyd’s death in 2020, protests broke out across the US, and cities began painting Black Lives Matter on their streets. When Wilmington, NC’s City Council rejected the painting of our streets, Lighthouse began filming. We filmed the protests in our city, the battle to have BLM representation, and the installation of a Black Lives Do Matter mural. We filmed because something significant was occurring in our city. It was not until we captured all of the footage that we realized we had enough to make a documentary. We spent the next 6 months compiling our footage to create this award-winning film.
